On February 13, 2010, Oasis Community Corporation (Oasis) received an award from the New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators at the 3^rd Annual Labor Luncheon for the organization’s work providing enriching, community-based after-school programs to over 1,500 children in New York City. Governor Paterson and other dignitaries attended the luncheon.

Greg Floyd, President of Local 237 Teamsters Union chapter, introduced Oasis’ Executive Director, Frank Brown, Esq., at the event and he accepted the award on behalf of the organization. During his acceptance speech, Mr. Brown thanked Oasis’ 7 board members and over 200 staff members for their hard work and dedication to the organization's mission. Moreover, he also talked about the valuable, needed services the organization has delivered since 2001 and implored all of the state legislators to continue helping secure additional funding for Oasis during this tough funding environment.
