Remember when Barack Obama said “yes we can”? He was speaking to us all throughout the world, compelling and empowering each one of us to make a difference.
Oasis Afterschool at Ballet Tech has always looked for ways to teach our students the importance of charitable work. Students learn to give to the less fortunate and they quickly learn the benefits!
This year our students are participating in a knit-a-square project led by our very wonderful parent volunteer Susan Monroy.
Susan is teaching our students to be successful at the art of knitting. Our students will learn that knitting and donating just one square is a small act. But one square takes on a different meaning when students realize that their knitted square will be combined with others as part of a global effort to help AIDS orphans of South Africa to keep warm.

Message from the Executive Director |

On behalf of the entire Oasis Community Corporation (Oasis) family, I would like to thank all of the children and families who attended our 16 after-school programs in four boroughs across New York City during the 2008-09 school year. In addition, I would also want to thank all of the Oasis board members, foundations, government officials and agencies, and individual donors who donated precious resources in order for Oasis to make it through this tough economic crisis and perilous funding environment this past year.
